The model:  The 59 Spokane is Dan's 5th "Lilac Lady".  She has been extremely detailed and although running a bit slower than some of the other boats, looks good on the water.  A motor change from brushless to an Astroflight seems to help her performance.

The real boat: Sponsored by the Greater Spokane community, the “lilac Lady” never was overpowering.  Driver, Captain Dallas Sartz got everything he could from the boat and she was distinctive in the Lilac and Purple colors.  The Miss Spokane had a tendency to have her tail destroyed or damaged in many races in 1958 and had 3-4 different tail configurations during the season. In 1960 the boat completely Lilac and Purple and was outfitted with the freeform tail.  Rex Manchester took the wheel in that season
